Lingam-Yoni, male sex and female sex reunited.
The Linga, fountain of life, is shown in its erect form, and is usually
placed in the Yoni, the source of all that exists. Originally the cylindrical
shape represented the formlessness of creation, then gradually became associated
with Shiva. The Linga, divine phallus of Lord Shiva, is adored instead of him.
Shiva temples have Shiva-Linga as the main deity.
