Varaha

Varaha, the Boar, is the allegory of the re-establishmente of the wolrd after Pralaya-Deluge.
At the begining of the Kalpa, the Earth-Pritvi lies on the ocean-bed, Vishnu wishing to lift her up, took the form of a boar and plunged into the primeval watars then lifted Bhoomidevi onto his tusks and raised to the surface. Before doing it, Varaha defeated the asura Hiranyaksha.
