In the indian mythology the Moon is a God: Chandra, the Luminous.
The full-moon send forth a occult power, like the Amrita-Soma, the God's beverage. By the Full-Moon cult Chandra will be assimilate to Soma.
He is also a fertility god.
His vahana (vehicle) is an antelope.
Other names are:
  • Kumudapati= Lord of lotus
  • Mriganga= spotted
  • Pavamana= liqueur purifier
  • Oshadipati= King of grass
  • Shivashekara= crest of Shiva
  • Sitamarici= with cool rays
  • Somanatha or Someshwara= Lord of the Soma
